Path no. 573 – Sopramare to Clock tower

Path no. 573 – We start from home, our B&B Amandolevanto, and head towards the locality of “Sella Mereti”, on the provincial road in the direction of Monterosso.

Following the carriage road for about 30 minutes, we go up to “Sopramare”, a beautiful panoramic area and an important crossroads of paths.

The climb can be a bit tiring but a small stop is also included in the 30 minutes.

Once at the top, from which you can enjoy an excellent view, we will find ourselves in front of two signs: on the left is indicated “Sella di Bagari”, an area located at 361 meters above sea level and which connects to the path to Monterosso; on your right sign for Levanto.

This path, which crosses “Sopra Mare”, is Path no. 573.

We have followed the indication towards Levanto and we can say that the view is breathtaking.

You walk downhill, which is not too steep and the path is well maintained; Of course, trekking shoes are always recommended and a stick is also recommended for those who have difficulty descending.

Following the path, well indicated with red-white stripes, you arrive at the Clock Tower.

Along the line of the medieval walls you reach the historic center of Levanto in about 30 minutes. Fragrant Mediterranean scrub of thyme, wild herbs and heather with small pine forests, and just beyond the olive groves close to the properties overlooking the village.

This type of trail, lasting a total of just over an hour, is suitable for everyone.

As already mentioned, we recommend technical clothing: trekking or sports shoes with a good grip, and sticks for those who have a few more difficulties.

Of course, the best seasons are spring and autumn, but winter can also offer sunny days and still good temperatures. In this case it is useful to remember to dress in layers, so that you can lighten up as you warm up.
